Since this processor wasn't going into my current gaming rig, it was just laying about. I couldn't let it go to waste. At stock speeds of 4.7GHz, and turbo speed of 5.0Ghz, this thing is FAST!
This processor does draw 220w, so it needs a good motherboard and good PSU.
With high power draw and fast processing comes high heat. This package with liquid cooling system comes packaged with the Cooler Master Seidon 120 AiO Liquid Cooler. This is the exact same cooler I have on my 8350. I expect this to be just as reliable to keep temperatures down.
I have the same Liquid Cooling System on my FX-8350 and it hasn’t let me down yet.
Let's see how this fares with my XFX R9 295X2
FX-9590 Unboxing
AMD FX 9590 Unboxing
So far in my build:
-XFX Radeon R9 295X2 GPU
-AMD FX-9590 Processor w/ Liquid Cooling System

I wish amd would release some new CPUs. I had to go with Intel this time around because amd hasn't released anything very good in a while now. ended up with a core i7-4930k
They are sitting on the Steamroller core, and ignoring the power users who are willing to spend 300+ on a CPU alone. But it seems that up to now, they simply don't care.
And Escavator (EV) was already mentioned as being available towards end of this year in an low-power APU system. So they have them, but the business simply doesn't care.
I hope that the new CEO will decide to actually push the AM3+ or FM2+ Octa-Core systems. I would gladly switch to FM2+ socket if there was a Octa-Core or better.
FM2+ chipset is far more advanced then AM3+, so I'll do it. Just release Octa-Core chip darn it… (which they wont')
+Grzegorz Wereszko Octa-Core? What's next, flying cars? Checks his iPhone 8
Well all FX-8/9 series are Octa-Core chips. So all I want is a true FX chip for FM2+ socket. Flying Cars? don't even have regular licence.
+Grzegorz Wereszko I'm sorry, GEEZ. Pah…
