AMD Gaming PC Build Step 2: The Motherboard

I wanted to go with a full size ATX motherboard of high quality that will last me a while. I went with the Sapphire Pure Black 990FX.

Feature that I like:
Dual BIOS
On board Power/Reset Switches
Digital LED for temps/error codes
Color LED indicating system/BIOS status
Lots of Heat Sinks
Great layout
Six PCIx16 slots
Nine SATA ports
Sixteen USB Ports (12 USB 2.0, 4 USB 3.0)

This motherboard just looks great. Everything is laid out well. The PCI slots are double-spaced. It easily lays the ground down for dual or triple crossfire.

So far in my build:
-AMD FX-8350 Unclocked Processor
-Sapphire Pure Black 990FX Motherboard

I wish they would just make all ports USB 3.

+David Wagner not cost effective presently.
They try to keep cost down so that they can use more expensive parts where it counts, like capacitors etc.
