I'm using a 128GB Sandisk SSD to install the Operating System onto.
I'll use this as a boot disk and install everything else like games and other applications onto a 1TB Seagate 7200RPM HDD.
I also got a cheap DVD-RW drive for any optical disk I may need to use.
So far in my build:
-AMD A10-7850K APU
-AMD RG2133 16GB Gamer Series RAM
-Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H Motherboard
-Sandisk 128GB SSD
-Western Digital 1TB 7200RPM HDD
-DVD-RW Drive
Putting your OS onto SSD will make an amazing difference. For one thing you'll boot up in seconds instead of minutes.
Definitely +George Cohn. This is being built as a secondary PC. I learned quite a bit from my first. My main ones boots up Windows 8.1 in about 10-15 seconds. Super fast!
Nice! Seems like everyone agrees with gigabyte for the motherboard.
What case are you using?
+Craig Deeter that'll be up soon. 😉 I'm also gonna go back and do my gaming PC and add more to it.
interested in seeing how this build works out for you, I have a few of the same parts sitting here waiting for me to put it together. I'm really trying to decide if I want to go 16 or 32gb on the ram and how fast I want it
+Eric Morgan so far 16GB does me very well. The Mobo on my other PC tops out at 16GB, but it hasn't hindered me much. I play on Ultra settings. At least this leaves me flexible to add more if I wish to.
ponka
Why that particular drive? Better than others? Price?
They were on sale. I got more GB bang for my buck.
