Benedict Corpuz April 10, 2014 17
The next step in my build is the AMD A10-7850K "Kaveri" APU which I will pair with the Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H Motherboard I bought then other day.

This processor features 4 CPU Cores and 8 GPU Cores featuring AMD Radeon R7 Graphics and AMD True Audio

The processor was provided by #AMD as an #AMDGift

Nice but I would of sold the cpu and kept the ram. Your current combo will only play games at low to medium settings at best. Sorry coach.

Javier that's the nature of it's design. It's not meant to play games on ultra. Different architecture.  That's still a dedi cpu/gpu combo required for that.
This is designed for folks that want an all in one solution that IS capable of delivering an enjoyable , if not perfect , gaming experience and lower cost, heat & power then the traditional setup. And it does the job phenomenally well.

+Javier Tapia My main rig has an FX-8350 paired with 16GB RAM on a Sapphire 990FX Motherboard and both a HIS Radeon 7970 & Sapphire Radeon 7950 Crossfired.

The above is just a new build I'm doing for the 7850K to demonstrate the ease of the build. Not everyone can afford to build a monster to play games maxed out.

The A10-7850K is a great all-in-one solution for a normal PC user, one who will use it for all around work and will only sometimes push the CPU to its max power.

+Benedict Corpuz how much did the Reg cost you? This is what I don't get why on earth would you need so much power? Oh that's right, half for the system (windows )and the other for the game. Dose it really make a big difference for that extra $?

For which +Alex Rubio? For the system with the crossfire, I only had the 7970 and was given the 7950. I had though about building a second system, but I decided to add it to the current one. Its been going on strong for a year. I use it to render 3D graphics and objects for some side projects.

I'm actually finding BF4 plays A-OK on this chip;  I got a free copy of the game when I purchased the APU.  I paired it with 16GB of AMD's branded RAM for "gamers" and a GigaByte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI motherboard.

The mobo took some hoops to get working with the newer APU.  It had an older BIOS on it – so I have to make a bootable USB with some flash utilities and grab a $30 older APU that was compatible to get things going.   So be aware that some boards may not have a new enough BIOS flashed on them to even be able to POST with this chip (grrr).

1080p at medium settings w/o an add-on card is OK.  The boots into Win 8.1 in about 10 – 15 seconds from a cold start (mostly due to the Samsung SSD).

Finding Crossfire support lacking – apparently only the R7 240 or 250 will work – and only certain kinds of the 250 are even compatible.  I built it as a small and quiet system – so I'll check out a R7 250 with a fanless heatsink when I'm able.

Porter…for best results you are looking for the ddr3 version of the 250. That's what works best with the 7850k. 🙂
