I saw a tesla crossover type about 2 months ago. Not sure if it was a old prototype or new prototype. Anyone know what it could be?

News is that the co-founder of Tesla, but who left a while back, is the CEO of WrightSpeed. He is the one that landed the contract with FedEx to produce hybrid engines.

+Patrick McMicken that is the Model X that will be out early next year

There is a photo of Model S P85D. So most likely is a D variant of S only

The D was supposed to be the E but then they would have S E X models.

+Carl Page Why do you think they called it the E? Elon Musk said they did it for that reason. Looks like you're right though, but it was Ford that stopped them from making it called the E.

I'm sure the D was chosen with similarly tongue-in-cheek ideas in mind. I still wish they'd make up with Ford and partner for a Model T. Maybe give Ford the chassis and have them build the body and interior.

Or, maybe just call it the FF for F*** Ford.

EDIT: Looks like Ford asked Tesla to do it politely since they didn't really have much of a legal leg to stand on, and not being fully committed to the name (looks like Ford hasn't made up their mind in 20 years either) they agreed.
