Avoid Paper Coffee Cup Leaks by Making Sure the Hole in the Lid Isn’t Lined Up with the Cup Seam

Yes! All the frickin' time! I always have to check this when I pick up coffee either for myself or for others.

I have been told by a couple of #Starbucks baristas that it IS part of their training not to line up the spout with the seam … and yet apparently most baristas sleep through that part of the training, since the past year or so I have been increasingly handed drinks with the lid lined up incorrectly. I think it used to happen 20% of the time. In the recent past, it happens 60% of the time! Grr!

Grr is correct. But it may be the cup also. I've turned them around to be opposite the seam and the cup would still leak on my hand.

It can happen … but one of these things is avoidable by baristas doing their job according to their training, and I don't really understand why this one thing is so commonly forgotten/ignored. Perhaps it's not highlighted well.

I get so frustrated with the baristas when they hand it to me like that..
